Rome Wasn't Built In A Day

"In the time it took me to knit these three small architectural sculptures, (models of three of the homes I have lived in) "our empire" has sprawled. Farm land around Guelph, Ontario has been replaced by developments made with such speed and such disposable materials they will likely not be standing a century from now and the skyline of T.O. changes by the day, sometimes appearing to be in a state of decay rather than development.
"For this exhibition I am also knitting a Roman column, with zipper and buttons, a fake monument, a quixotic antidote to the humble homes."
