Paul Petro Contemporary Art is pleased to present our 28th edition of Christmas Spice, the original holiday exhibition inspired by the idea that someone might one day acquire or gift their first work of art, for as little as $2 (remember those temporary tattoos by FASTWÜRMS?), with new works and works from the vault, made by gallery and guest artists.
Opening online at multiplesandsmallworks.com on Friday November 29 and in the gallery that evening, 7-10pm.
Each year a different artist is invited to 'do' the tree. This year's tree is by Michel Dumont and was part of Dumont's exhibition, Za zay gaa mitig, Ojibway for 'decorated tree'. Dumont's exhibition morphs into a grouping of allies and familiars come the opening of Christmas Spice tonight. Pictured here are Dumont's forget-me-not mosaic ornaments. The motif is inspired by Métis and Ojibway florals that make up the flora of the Robinson Treaty area.
